SplatScene is a macOS desktop app for opening, viewing, styling, and exporting 3D Gaussian Splatting scenes. We designed SplatScene to process your files locally on your device whenever possible.
SplatScene does not collect personal information, does not create a user account, and does not upload your scene files to external servers for processing.
With your permission, the app collects anonymous usage analytics to help us improve SplatScene (see "Analytics and Tracking" below). This is opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
SplatScene may use outbound network connections for app functionality such as purchase-related services (App Store / StoreKit), anonymous analytics (only after you opt in), or app service communication. It does not operate a public server and does not accept incoming network connections.
With your consent, SplatScene sends anonymous usage analytics to PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to understand which features are used and to improve the app. What we send is deliberately minimal:
This is not tracking: we do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), do not collect data that identifies you, and do not share or combine data across apps or with third parties for advertising. SplatScene contains no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking technology.
Analytics are off by default for EU/UK users, who are asked on first launch whether they want to enable them (with equally easy Accept and Reject options). Non-EU users can disable analytics at any time. Every user can turn analytics on or off in Settings → Usage analytics; turning them off stops all reporting immediately, and for EU/UK users also deletes the install identifier.
SplatScene is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means the revised policy applies.
