What 3D Gaussian Splatting file formats does SplatScene open on macOS?
SplatScene opens SPZ, PLY, SPLAT, SOG, SOGS, KSPLAT and RAD files. Drag a file onto the window, or set SplatScene as the default app to open them by double-clicking in Finder.
Can SplatScene train a Gaussian Splatting model from photos on a Mac?
Yes. The Create tab turns a folder of photos or a video into a new splat scene entirely on-device using Apple Silicon. Smart frame selection, COLMAP alignment and Quick / Standard / High quality presets are built in — nothing is uploaded to the cloud.
What are the system requirements?
SplatScene requires macOS 13 Ventura or later on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). It runs comfortably on 8 GB machines; 16 GB+ speeds up training.
